Soterios Rouman is a seasoned technology entrepreneur, with over 20 years of experience creating successful new products and companies. He has served in senior executive roles at both startup and Fortune 500 companies, with passions for innovation, leading change, and building and developing high performing teams.
Soterios has extensive work as an entrepreneur, a strategic management consultant, and an advisor to start-up companies. As an entrepreneur, Soterios was Founder and CEO of Achex, an internet payments company that pioneered online debit payments. Backed by major venture capital (VC) firms, the company was eventually acquired by First Data Corporation. Soterios also founded technology start-ups in the children’s entertainment, beauty, and customer feedback space. As a management consultant, Soterios has worked with both Accenture and his own firm, IncuBay, to help Fortune 500 companies create new products and business lines. His work has often resulted in acquisitions of other start-up companies. Soterios has played a key role helping develop the initial strategies, identifying acquisition targets, acquiring the companies, and helping integrate those companies with his clients. Soterios also serves as an active Advisor to several start-ups in various industries.
Soterios served as SVP and Head of Merchant Services for Capital One from 2012 to 2015. He is currently COO of an entertainment technology start-up that is developing 3D video technology for mobile devices.
Soterios was a member of the initial Board of Directors of StartOut, a national non-profit serving LGBTQ entrepreneurs. He currently serves on the Honorary Board of Larkin Street Youth Services, a non-profit serving homeless youth in the San Francisco area.
He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Harvard College (Magna Cum Laude) and an MBA from the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University.
