Work Experience

Shari earned her BA in Mathematics at Binghamton University.  During her time at Goizueta Business School at Emory University, she served as a Teaching Assistant for Decision Analysis and Statistics classes and mentored international students.

Shari started her career as an employee benefits consultant before attending graduate school. After graduation, she joined KPMG Consulting as a management consultant, improving processes of large financial institutions across the country.  She then worked for SunTrust Bank and Voya Financial as an internal consultant and manager, running large strategic projects to consolidate businesses, improve operations and introduce new products to market.

In addition to her time working with graduate school candidates, Shari enjoys volunteering for her neighborhood Homeowners Association as well as staying involved with her kids’ school organizations.  Shari loves cooking, playing tennis and hiking.

What I like most about being a Stratus MBA Admissions Counselor:

Stratus allows me to share my experiences and insights with clients who are looking to expand their knowledge and advance their careers.  I love brainstorming with applicants on how to best showcase their talents and tell their story!

One piece of advice I would share with someone who is applying to business school:

Consider short-term and long-term benefits when deciding on which schools to focus on.  The time you spend in business school is short, but intense so it is important to find a place that will keep you motivated and happy – and you may wind up staying in that city for a long time after classes end (like I did!).

3 Random Facts:

  • I tripled my salary with my first job after business school.
  • My favorite foods are pizza, chicken parmigiana and anything made with chocolate.
  • I can parallel park better than anyone in my family.
