Work Experience

Meridith Dennes, MBA Admissions Counselor at Stratus Admissions Consulting, coaches applicants on the entire MBA admissions process. She received an MBA from NYU, Stern School of Business and a BA from Northwestern. After completing her MBA, Meridith spent 15 years working in investment banking, both in New York and Chicago. Dennes began her career in the summer associate investment banking program at Bear Stearns. She then went on to work in leveraged finance and sponsor coverage at Banc of America Securities and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation. After leaving a succesful career in banking, she co-founded of Project Eve, a leading women’s lifestyle media company. With a digital readership in excess of 8+ million monthly unique visitors and, over one million social media followers, Project Eve provides news and resources to inspire and empower women.Her areas of expertise include writing, editing, coaching and and communications consulting. Meridith can answer any questions about MBA admissions, from school selection and research to GMAT or GRE, recommendations strategies, resume best practices and interviewing strategies. 

Outside of her formal work experience, Meridith is an avid skier. She is a member of the Professional Ski Instructors of America and has taught people to ski in Stratton, Vermont for years. She has also had the opportunity to lecture nationwide on the topic of work-life balance and career change. She has spoken at the Pennsylvania Convention for Women, the Massachusetts Convention for Women, NAWBO and New York University. Meridith has been published in Huffington Post and Working Mother.

  • I was an English major who worked at Marvel Comics before attending business school. After business school, I worked in investment banking. Career change is possible with hard work and perseverance. I am a firm believer in following your passions.
