After graduating law school, Dan worked as a public defender in New York City. In this capacity, Dan managed a combined misdemeanor and felony caseload and was responsible for all pre-trial work as well as litigating hearings and trials. Since his practice also focused on the collateral consequences of a criminal case, Dan simultaneously developed detailed understanding of immigration, family, and employment law. Dan is currently a judicial law clerk on the Michigan Supreme Court. He also tutors for the law bar exam. Prior to his legal career, Dan worked as fifth-grade bilingual teacher in Washington Heights, New York.
