Work Experience

Samantha majored in economics in college with a focus on international development. Upon graduation, she worked at the World Bank in Washington D.C. for a year before applying to business school at Columbia. At Columbia, she discovered marketing research which underscored her fascination with math and statistics. After receiving her MBA, Samantha worked in New York City for a marketing research consulting firm in the Media Division, and then joined Sesame Workshop to undertake research internally, while concurrently, attending Columbia part-time to attain her MA in Statistics.

After leaving her job to have children, Samantha switched gears and enrolled in an admissions counseling certificate program. She started with Stratus Prep in 2010 and has been working with MBA, Master’s, and Ph.D., clients ever since.

A little more in-depth

What I like most about being a Stratus MBA Admissions Counselor:

I have really enjoyed getting to know each of my clients, helping them all to dig deeper to uncover important life moments and develop their best stories possible. I especially like encouraging my clients to reveal their unique personal side.

3 Random Facts:

– I love to travel with my family; we have been to all 50 states and are working our way through as many countries as we can.
– I clearly can’t get enough puzzles. My husband and I work together to solve the daily NYT crossword; my family as a team has completed many ‘Escape the Rooms’; and I have maintained a subscription to Games magazine for umpteen years.
– Volunteering has allowed me to not only make a difference, but it has been a great way for me to meet new people. Right now, I am involved in organizations which impact education, children, animals, and my local community.
