Work Experience

Donna earned her BS in Business Administration and graduated with honors. She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, University Honor Court, Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority, and was the Campus Y Crafts Bazaar Chair.

Admissions/Career Management/Academic Advising: Donna worked at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School for 20 years. She held various roles in the Full Time MBA Program and the Undergraduate Business Program. In her 15 years in MBA Admissions, Donna evaluated thousands of applications, conducted interviews (240 in just this past season), represented Kenan-Flagler at admissions events, and managed regions including China, Korea, and Japan. Donna directed the career development program for 700 undergraduate business students and developed strong working relationships with investment banking and consulting firms.

Consumer Advertising: Donna worked at one of the world’s largest advertising agencies on the national advertising campaigns for Kraft’s Maxwell House coffee and Corning Consumer Products (CorningWare, Revere, Pyrex, Visions, and Corelle brands).

IT Experience: Donna’s first job post-college was working at Morgan Stanley in their IT analyst program supporting the programming needs of the trading division of the firm.

Hospitality Experience: Donna worked as a culinary instructor teaching fermented foods classes at the Central Carolina Culinary Institute. She was also a prep chef in a fine dining restaurant and even helped in opening two start up food ventures.

3 Random Facts:

– I ran in a 200-mile relay race to the NC Coast. I faced my fear of running alone in the dark and anchored a 10-mile evening leg as part of the 20 miles I covered during the 30-hour race.
– I founded an after school math program at my kids’ elementary school that served over 250 children during the five years I ran the program.
– I’ve been known to clear a room when opening some of my more exotic fermentation experiments. Ask me about the failed fish sauce ferment…
