Work Experience

JaMaar received his BS in Electrical Engineering. After graduating from UCLA, he worked in the telecom industry for several years. He began as an engineer before taking on a supply chain/operations role. In 2008, JaMaar left for Wharton to begin his transition into management consulting.

After business school, JaMaar worked as a Senior Consultant in the Strategy and Operations practice at Deloitte. Prior to joining Stratus, he began working on the management side of education through The Broad Residency. As a Broad Resident, JaMaar managed the treasury function for the Los Angeles Unified School District, including cash flow analysis/management, performance management within the finance function, and project management of short-term debt transactions.

3 Random Facts:

– Growing up, basketball was my first love. For two years I played basketball at Long Beach Poly High School, which has more NFL players than any other high school in the country. Perhaps I chose the wrong sport!
– At UCLA, I balanced my engineering classes with several courses in ethnomusicology – including a course on Duke Ellington taught by world renowned musician Kenny Burrell.
– During my time at Wharton, I traveled to more than 10 countries and valued the cultural learning and development that took place alongside my international classmates. Dubai and Israel were my two favorite trips.
